A MAN has been arrested after a woman was found with serious injuries at a house in Eastbourne this afternoon.
Police officers and the ambulance service attended the scene in Broad Oak Close.
The alarm was raised just before 2pm.
Crime scene officers wearing protective suits were seen entering a property in the street, while uniformed officers stood guard.
The home was cordoned off while police launched their inquiry.
Neighbours reported seeing several police patrol cars parked in the road, and detectives have launched an inquiry.
Sussex Police said that as a result of the incident, a 62-year old man had been arrested in Chailey just after 3pm.
The force said it had no further details at this stage.
