In his letter Michael McGough (End to project fear, Opinion, July 2) says that Richard Newcombe and other Remain voters, such as myself, should devote more time to help securing rather than stopping a good deal. Securing a deal is up to the Government and there is nothing anyone else can do about it.
The fact that after four years the Government has been unable to secure a deal makes me think that leaving without a deal was Leave campaign’s intention all along and anyone who voted Leave in the belief there would be a good deal was sadly mistaken.
