House prices in Worcester fell in April – but local price changes don’t yet reveal the impact of the pandemic.
The average house price in the area was £211,333, Land Registry figures show – a 1.3% decrease from March.
The opposite was seen across the West Midlands, where the average price rose by 0.4%, to £202,093.
According to the Land Registry, the data does not show the impact of Covid-19 on the market as completing a sale can take up to two months, so the figures reflect activity pre pandemic.
More recent indicators have confirmed a strong pick-up across the UK, with Halifax and Nationwide reporting month-on-month price rises in July of 1.6% and 1.7% respectively.
