So yesterday, Thursday, was National Burger Day - a chance to pause for a moment and think about the humble hamburger.
It's exact origins are unknown but the dish first became widely known in the US and is certainly popular in the SNJ area.
So yesterday we asked our Facebook followers for their suggestions of where to get the best burger on patch and this is what you told us.
Several venues were mentioned but it was Jolly Nice on the A419 at Frampton Mansell which seemed to come out on top. Although more expensive than other eateries, readers said the quality was worth the extra cost.
These were your suggestions:
Fagin's Restaurant at Brookthorpe
Jolly Nice at Frampton Mansell - several mentions
Burger Star, Cheltenham
Matchplay Snooker Club, Salmon Springs Trading Estate, Stroud - whopper or belly buster
Clothiers, Stroud
Big Fish, Nelson Street, Stroud
Stirrup Cup, Bisley - homemade burgers
Brody's, Five Valleys Shopping Centre
Adey's Farm, Breadstone - lamb burgers
The Crown, Minchinhampton - best I've had in a long long time.
McDonald’s - cuz Stroud's a dive!
Falcon Steakhouse, Wotton - best burgers and steaks for 50 miles!
Hoggies Lower Wick, Dursley
