Stonehouse is awash with rainbows as residents and businesses show their appreciation for NHS staff and other key workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
The town council has encouraged people to join in creating a continuous chain of rainbow colours throughout the town.
Mayor of Stonehouse Neil Gibbs said: “With lots of our traditional events being cancelled this year including Stonehouse in Bloom and Christmas Goodwill, we wanted to create a simple initiative that everyone can join in with while, at the same time, showing our appreciation, as a community, to all frontline staff who have worked so tirelessly throughout the last six months.
“The high street is already looking very colourful and it would be lovely if we could see more creations in homes too.”
Banners and posters have gone up around the town and flyers were delivered to every household at the beginning of September, inviting everyone to take part.
