Barbers at a shop in Stroud have rescued a pheasant they saw running in the street outside.
Casey Greenway went to rescue the bird after it was spotted looking 'petrified' outside Dann Barbers on Kendrick Street.
"It was running through the town. I thought I better go and get it," he said.
Casey chased the feathered creature into nearby shop Made in Stroud where it hid behind the counter.
"There were feathers everywhere. It was a bit of a nightmare.
"All the ladies in the shop were screaming.
"It was mad. Only in Stroud," he said.
The bird, which they named Sheila, has now been released into a nearby field.
Meanwhile, Stroud milliner Gemma Sangwine has collected the stray feathers to make into a special fascinator.
