A Stonehouse man has had his photograph included in the Duchess of Cambridge's Hold Still exhibition.
The digital exhibition, hosted by the National Portrait Gallery, features photos focussed on three core themes – Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness.
Among them is a picture of former soldier and paramedic Dave Thorpe, taken by Steve Jenkins.
Steve's description of the photograph states: "Former soldier and HART paramedic Dave Thorpe is just one of the extraordinary people in the fight against Coronavirus.
"The Hazardous Area Response Team paramedics work alongside the other emergency services at the centre of serious incidents or threats to public health, and provide care to any persons within a hazardous environment who would otherwise be beyond the reach of NHS care.
"I wanted to portray him in a ‘heroic’ light, his expression is one of determination and stoicism.
"Just like his fellow NHS colleagues and key workers, not thinking about himself, but the care and needs of those less fortunate."
Spearheaded by The Duchess of Cambridge, patron of the National Portrait Gallery, Hold Still was launched in May to create a unique collective portrait of the UK during lockdown.
A selection panel, including The Duchess of Cambridge, National Portrait Gallery director Nicholas Cullinan, author and broadcaster Lemn Sissay, Chief Nursing Officer for England Ruth May, and award-winning photographer Maryam Wahid, chose the 100 portraits from more than 31,000 entrants, taken during a six-week period in May and June.
