Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision in Stroud this afternoon (Monday September 21).
Officers were called to Bisley Old Road with a report of a cyclist coming off his bicycle and hitting a van at around 12.50pm.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, has been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after an air ambulance was called with suspected serious injuries. No one else has been injured.
A road closure sign is in place in Parliament Street and the road is not expected to reopen for a few hours with drivers asked to find alternative routes.
Police are asking anyone who saw the cyclist going towards Stroud town centre, witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage to call police on 101 quoting incident 217 of 21 September.
