A 37-year-old Stroud man has admitted offences of racially aggravated assault and burglary and is to be sentenced by a Gloucester Crown Court judge next week.

Cassius Adamson, 37, of Stroud, appeared before the court last Friday (September 18) and pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault and insulting words or behaviour towards a man on August 6 2020, and a burglary in Slad Road, Stroud on the same date.

The court heard that Adamson blames his racially aggravated offence on Tourettes syndrome and says he cannot control offensive language 'just coming out.'

The case has been adjourned until September 29 for a pre-sentence medical report on him to be prepared.
