CHECK out the flares in these wonderful old pictures of Bob Monkhouse opening the old Rowenfields supermarket in Cirencester in 1972.
They were all taken by the Standard and form part of an archive of negatives held by our nostalgia writer Robert Heaven.
Situated on the current Lidl site on the Love Lane Industrial Estate, Rowenfields went through several changes including Gateway, Somerfield and Penny's.
Best know for hosting Celebrity Squares, Family Fortunes and Bob's Full House, actor and comedian Bob Monkhouse died in 2003 aged 75.
