A DAIRY farm in Hardwicke has won a renowned food and drink award for the 82nd time.

Out of 12,777 products sent in from 106 different countries, Jess’s Ladies Organic Milk Farm was awarded the highest accolade of two 3-star Great Taste awards for its single and double cream milk, with its extra thick cream, kefir and semi-skimmed milk also picking up the coveted awards.

Astonishingly this is the farm's 82nd Great Taste award.

Products were judged by food critics, chefs, cooks, food writers and journalists from all over the world.

Great Taste is one of the most coveted of all food and drink awards.

Judges described the farm's double cream this year as "luscious, rich, luxurious," with the single cream being described as "extraordinary, how cream really should taste."

The Hardwicke based dairy company, which was launched 14 years ago by Jess and her dad Mike Vaughan, supplies stockists throughout Gloucestershire, Gloucester services, the Midlands and the Southwest-as well as attending Stroud farmers' market each Saturday.

Jess said: "We take huge pride in our produce and satisfaction from the positive feedback we receive about our products. "Developing new products as well is also central to make sure they are as perfect as possible -our kefir has been a huge success and also won stars.

"I’m not sure when we set off 14 years ago on a quest to survive with our small herd in organic farming, buying second hand equipment and converting a shed on the farm we thought any of the accolades we have picked up along the way were possible.

"We do the very best we can everyday-and produce the best produce we possibly can."

She added: "It is a huge amount of hard work but very rewarding.

"We know ‘the Ladies’ all by name and we milk them personally everyday to ensure they’re a happy, healthy bunch. Because we believe that happy, healthy cows make better milk.

"To win our 82nd star and have Great Taste Stars for all of our produce is incredible really considering how small we are.

"After winning the best producer in the Guardian and Observer food awards last autumn, as well as winning The Great Taste Golden fork in 2016, it is amazing what the ladies have achieved over the years. It has been a very funny year for business and life as a whole-but I guess people still appreciate great tasting food and an everyday treat."
