Autumn is known to be the best time of the year to see fungi in the UK.

As the county's woodlands comes alive with incredible fungi, we've put together a gallery showing some of the different types in the Stroud area.

A huge thank you to fungi expert and Gloucestershire Camera Club contributor Jamie Warren for providing these wonderful photos of the different types of fungi hiding in the county.

Jamie can be seen pictured with Golden Scalycaps, a noticeable golden yellow mushroom, velvet-top fungus, known for its distinctive bright red appearance and white spots, and many more.

Some types of mushrooms can be extremely poisonous.

So if you aren't an expert like Jamie, or are unsure about a mushroom then it's best to keep away.
