AN electronics manufacturer from Minchinhampton recently celebrated 50 years of business.

Topcon Technology Ltd (TTL) provide world leading electronic systems for mobile machinery, used across the construction and agricultural industries.

The company started in a chicken shed on Selsley Common, transferring to an old garage in Nailsworth in 1969, and has continually expanded over the years finally moving to Minchinhampton in 2000, where it currently employs around 100 people. To celebrate the milestone, reached in August, TTL had scheduled a family BBQ to celebrate, which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lockdown.

The team instead decided to support a local business, Country Quailty Meats in Nailsworth, and staff were provided with a voucher to spend which enabled all the Topcon family to get involved with their own socially distanced BBQ.

A spokesman for the company said: "Using the ethos of 'enjoying our success together, even though we are apart' we invited our colleagues to enjoy a relaxing BBQ at home whilst recording the occasion.

To add to the fun, photo entries to a multi category competition were also invited and with a medley of prizes up for grabs, it was a tightly contested affair!"
