A CAFE and youth club will be opening at the former Lloyds Bank building in Stonehouse.

The Bridge Football Academy, which helps young footballers develop across the county, have acquired the building and announced the news on social media.

A statement on academy's Facebook page read: "We are thrilled to bring you the exciting news that we have secured the old Lloyds Bank building in Stonehouse and will be opening a joint cafe / youth club there in the coming months.

"The building will operate as a cafe during the day, becoming a youth club in the evening where our staff will be delivering a range of activities for young people everyday.

"Much like a traditional youth club we will have an Xbox/Playstation games area, pool room, a garden for sports, an arts & Crafts Room, a tuck shop and much more.

"The lack of available provision to support and help develop young people across the county is at an all time low so inline with our football sites, community programmes, AGP Project we feel that we are perfectly placed to step in and help solve this crisis.

"We are now beginning the process of updating the building and will keep you updated on our progress!"
