Twenty four people who flouted Covid-19 lockdown regulations in Gloucestershire in the spring have been ordered to pay almost £5,000 in fines and costs by Cheltenham magistrates in just one court sitting on Saturday.

One offender, Amy-Kate Butler, 19, of Barkers Leys, Bishops Cleeve, was handed a £588 bill for breaching the Coronavirus regulations by leaving her home twice without reasonable excuse, on April 17 and then again on May 10.

Penalties imposed on the other 23 defendants who faced the court ranged from £72 to £352 each.

The cases were:

Hannah Hargreaves, 23, of Plungington Road, Preston, Lancashire, was found in Standish, near Stroud, on April 26 - 163 miles from home. She received a penalty totalling £254.

Ryan Grist, 35, of Sherwood Road, Tetbury, was handed a £352 bill for being in Stroud without good reason on April 26.

Jack Troth, 23, of Albert Road, Evesham, was in Cirencester on April 12 without reasonable excuse. He was ordered to pay £72.

William Bellamy, 21, of Great Western Road, Cheltenham, was ordered to pay £254 for being outside his home on April 14 without reasonable excuse.

Stephanie Burford, 35, of Regent Street, Gloucester, received a £92 penalty for failing to comply with a reasonable instruction from PC Alex Beasley to return home on April 4.

James Cash, 29, of Vervain close, Churchdown, was fined £220 plus a £34 surcharge for being outside his home without good cause on April 27.

Arthur Granja, 30, of Omdurman Street, Swindon, received a £140 penalty for being in Cirencester on May 2 participating in a gathering of more than two people in a public place.

Mark Long, 35, of Clarence Street, Gloucester, who was in Cheltenham on April 6 was fined £60 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge.

Jamie McShane, 24, of Caernarvon Close, Cheltenham, was ordered to pay £117 for breaching the regulations by being outside his home on April 14.

Jack Medus, 28, of Bath Road, Cheltenham, was away from his home without good excuse on May 7. He was handed a fine and surcharge totalling £254.

Pompei Miclea, 29, of Shaggy Calf Lane, Slough, was in Cheltenham on April 19. He was also ordered to pay a total of £254.

Ben Pass, 42, of Elmfield Avenue, Cheltenham, was outside his home on April 29 and was fined £60 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge.

For leaving his home on a number of occasions between March 31 and April 9, Nicholas Potter, 63, of Matson Lane, Gloucester received a £92 penalty.

Lauchlan Pritchard, 21, of Pennine Road, Cheltenham, was ordered to pay £254 for being outside his home on April 27.

Darren Roberts, 33, of Sycamore Road, Partington, Manchester, was ordered to pay £252 for being in Gloucester, 134 miles from home, on April 5.

Craig Robson, 49, of Honyatt Road, Gloucester, received a £252 penalty for being away from his address without good reason on April 13.

Ricky Sallis, 41, of Cotteswold Road, Tewkesbury, failed to comply with an instruction from a police community support officer to return home on April 21. He was ordered to pay £94.

Kesel Slavomir, 20, of Regent Street, Gloucester, who was away from his address on April 21 received a fine and surcharge totalling £254.

Andrew Snee, 49, of Old Bath Road, Cheltenham, failed to comply with an instruction from PC Rachel Maybery on April 16 to stop entertaining friends at his home. The penalty imposed on him was £94.

Nicolaj Sobczak, 49, of Victoria Walk, Cheltenham, was ordered to pay £92 for disobeying an instruction by PC Kenneth Gorton to remain at home on April 9. He stated to the officer that he 'didn't care and was bored at home.'

Ryan Thomas, 31, of Oak Leaze, Patchway, Bristol, received a £254 penalty for being in Cheltenham, 36 miles away from home, on April 24.

Kane Townsend, 19, of Camberwell Road, Hesters Way, Cheltenham, was ordered to pay £254 for being away from his home on May 7.

Finally, Emily Woodhouse, 26, of Sycamore Road, Partington, Manchester, was in Gloucester on May 5. She was ordered to pay £252.
