A woman believes she saw the spirit of a small dog in the River Frome in August this year.

Kate Merrett went for a walk along the canal towards the Ark Cycles store in Brimscombe late at night when she decided to take some photos.

She said: "The river looked quite pretty, and though it was getting dark, it did feel a bit eerie along there especially at that time.

"I had a quick glance at my photos and carried on walking.

"When I got home I was about to delete them when I spotted something in the river in the photo so I zoomed in and saw the small dog like animal.

"I have been back to that exact spot and there's nothing there.

"I do happen to know a few years back a family were scattering ashes in the river of their small dog who loved his walks there."
