THE lives of two young people from Chalford will be remembered at a special live film streaming event on November 21.

The parents of Laoise Nolan and Josh Edmonds will be hosting a screening of the acclaimed documentary film A Love That Never Dies, to raise funds for two different charities - Children with Cancer UK and The Good Grief Project.

Laoise Nolan was nine-years-old when she died in 2016, following eight years of treatment for leukaemia.

Her parents, Liam and Deirdre Nolan, are raising money for Children with Cancer UK, a charity which funds research into finding safer, more effective treatments for all young cancer patients.

The charity also funds welfare projects for children with cancer and their families, ensuring that they get to have some happier times during their treatment.

Having witnessed their daughter undergo years of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, including a bone marrow transplant, her parents are now organising many fundraising events over the course of the year.

They will also both run the London Marathon next year, having run the virtual marathon on October 4, and are working closely with staff at Cirencester College, where they both work, to coordinate more fun events.

Former Cirencester College student, Josh Edmonds was 22 when he was involved in a fatal traffic accident while travelling in Vietnam.

His parents Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds went on to set up The Good Grief Project, a charity which promotes an understanding of what it means to grieve in a society that often has difficulty talking openly about death, dying and bereavement.

They made A Love That Never Dies while travelling through the US, interviewing other parents whose children had died under tragic circumstances.

It is a very positive and hopeful film, intended to encourage dialogue around grief in general and facilitate a shared conversation about loss and bereavement.

A Love That Never Dies was due to have been screened at Sundial Theatre, Cirencester College, on Saturday, November 21, but due to the lockdown, it will now be live streamed instead, from 8pm.

Jane and Jimmy, along with Liam and Deirdre, will host a Q&A following the film.
