Campaigners are calling for an application to install a 5G mast in Stroud to be refused.

STOP 5G campaigners are gathering at Cashes Green Community Centre and walking to the site of the proposed mast this afternoon (Monday) at 2.30pm.

The planning application for the first 5G mast in Stroud (application number S.20/2030/TEL) has already attracted over 100 official objections.

This “installation of a new 19m monopole supporting 6 no. antennas with proposed equipment cabinets, and ancillary development thereto” has also spawned a new Cashes Green pressure group, STOP 5G, which is campaigning and organising against this mast.

The STOP 5G group is also urging Stroud’s residents to share their concerns about the Cashes Green 5G mast application with the Stroud District Planning Department, either online at https://tinyurl.com/yy8wgzp4 or by email to planning@stroud.gov.uk.

Richard House Ph.D. of the STOP 5G (Stroud) Campaign said: “With over 100 citizens already having taken the trouble to object to this mast in just a few weeks, there is clearly considerable local anxiety being generated by this proposed mast, and the argument for a precautionary approach to be adopted in relation to this untested technology is therefore now surely unanswerable.”
