Bailey Paints might well be the oldest independent in Stroud as the original company was founded in 1895.

We are best known locally for our paint shop at Griffin Mill, supplying professional painters and decorators as well as the public, and our delivery vans are a common sight around and about Stroud.

However, we are unusual, if not unique, in being a paint shop with a paint factory ‘out the back’. We make our own high-quality decorative paint that we sell through our shop, but we are best known further afield as a manufacturer of paint for industry. We are the leading independent industrial paint manufacturer in the south west and supply anything from 1 litre of paint for traction engine enthusiasts to 1,000 litres to multinational engineering companies.

It is not easy running a small independent, especially during these current difficult times. We believe that we have done a really good job so far in keeping our staff and customers safe and keeping our business going.

If something seems like a good idea we are flexible and can act on it right away. Two simple examples of this are in that in response to the new lockdown we have a separate collection store so that customers can collect their paint safely without coming into the shop, and we are again offering free local delivery while our customers are stuck at home.
