A suspended jail sentence has been imposed on a 49-year-old Cainscross man who drove while disqualified and uninsured - and failed to provide a blood sample to police when stopped.
Mark Jones of Westward road was sentenced by Cheltenham Magistrates on November 3 to 13 weeks prison suspended for a year and banned from driving for 18 months.
He was also ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £128.
The magistrates placed him under supervision for a year with a six months drug rehabilitation order and a requirement to do up to 15 days of specified activities.
Jones pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A4 on Stroud road, Gloucester, while disqualified on October 30, 2020 and also to failing to provide a blood specimen for analysis. He further admitted driving without insurance.
Imposing their sentence, the magistrates said a prison term was necessary because of Jones' previous driving record, including a past offence of driving while disqualified.
