A group of teenager boys have been caught on CCTV attempting to break into Chalford Sports and Social Club.

Police were called to the break-in on Saturday night after windows were smashed and two attempts made to enter the Highfield Way venue.

The group left the scene after activating the alarm but were recorded on the club's CCTV.

Later that evening PCSO's King and White stopped a local youth in a nearby park.

Their enquiries took them to a house where three more teenagers were spoken to, each of whom admitted their parts in the burglary.

In line with the victims wishes, the boys will pay for damage caused and undertake restorative community work in the coming weeks.

A Tweet from Stroud Police said: "Our litter pickers are ready and we hear the youth club needs a lick of paint."
