A closure order has been imposed on a house in Stroud following reports of drug misuse and anti-social behaviour.

Officers were in court yesterday to obtain the closure order for the address in Paganhill.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Following a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court, a closure order was secured on a flat in the Jack Russell Close area of Stroud.

"This was in response to community concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and drugs misuse at the flat, which was impacting upon the quality of life for residents, their families and visitors.

"We would like to thank Sovereign Housing, a local social housing provider, for working with us to address the problems caused by this tenant and to get the property closed.

"We are working with Sovereign Housing to identify a more suitable tenant for the property."
