Yate Shopping Centre has announced 40 traders are able to remain open amid the latest lockdown announcements.
Many businesses have had to start 2021 in much the same way that they endured 2020 with severe restrictions on their ability to trade effectively.
However, in line with guidelines, many are adapting their businesses to offer either take-away or click & collect services.
Andrew Lowrey, Yate Shopping Centre Manager: “It’s not such a Happy New Year as we would have liked but the Chancellor’s announcement this morning of grants to help all retail, leisure and hospitality firms gives some comfort but the businesses were really hoping that the virus had abated enough after the Christmas break to get back to full trading.
“But, reality prevails and where they can businesses are looking at offering Yate shoppers services within the guidelines. The key message is that don’t come to the Centre unless you really have to and, if you do, please remember the basic social distancing and precautionary measures to help limit the spread of the virus.
“2021 is going to be a difficult start but the Centre is here to help you and we ask that local residents consider Yate’s shops first if they need anything. If in doubt about what is on offer, please go to our website or contact the Centre Management.”
