A MAN has been recalled to prison after assaulting a shopper outside Tesco in Stroud.
The assault took place outside the store in Stratford Road on Friday.
Police said a man from the local area was charged with offences of wounding and witness intimidation in connection with the incident.
He appeared before magistrates today and was recalled to prison - he would have been released on licence when the assault happened.
In a tweet posted this afternoon, @StroudPolice said:
After an assault on a member of the public outside Tesco in Stroud last Friday a local man has been charged today with Sec 20 Wounding & Witness Intimidation. He has been remanded to prison by magistrates.
