Our readers have nominated the top 10 takeaways in Stroud, and for the next week we’ll be profiling each of them so you can choose the Stroud News & Journal Best Takeaway 2021 winner.

Last but not least, we’re showcasing Karibu Vegan Bar & Kitchen: a restaurant serving international cuisine in Stroud.

Owner Sandeep Kanabar and his two-person team serve up takeaways including Mexican, Indian and American which are available to collect, or you can have them delivered on Fridays and Saturdays.

“Our ethos is more important than anything else. Every dish is special and handmade from scratch, freshly prepared and totally plant based,” said Sandeep.

He started the business in April last year and has taken Covid restrictions in his stride despite his small team.

“We are only a start-up business and we need all the help that we can get, so being in the top 10 is invaluable from that perspective.”

“We were over the moon. We just do the best we can, so if the best we can reaches the top takeaways and restaurants in Stroud, then we are absolutely over the moon and it validates all the hard work we’ve put in.”

“If we won I would be jumping up and down. It would mean a lot to us.”

If you think Karibu Vegan Bar & Kitchen should be crowned the best takeaway in Stroud, you can vote for them using the voting coupon in this week’s paper (Wednesday, February 24 edition) or next week’s (Wednesday, March 3 edition).
