A 23-year-old Stroud man who was found guilty of assaulting a man by beating him has been discharged and ordered to pay for the victim’s shirt.

Connor Jackson, of Marling Crescent, Farmhill, Stroud, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on April 20 to assaulting the man on August 8, 2020 in Stroud.

He also pleaded guilty to damaging a £10 shirt belonging to the victim without lawful excuse.

The judge discharged Jackson conditionally for 12 months and ordered him to pay £50 in compensation for the assault and £10 in compensation for the shirt.

Jackson was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £22, bring the total to £167, by May 11.
