A PREMISES licence application for Stroud’s Imperial Hotel does not indicate that the venue will be reopened.
This is contrary to our earlier report.
Pub chain Greene King has indeed applied to Stroud District Council for a premises licence at the hotel, which is located next to Stroud railway station.
And in the application they have stated they will be hosting live music at the site, and in answer to the question, 'when do you want the premises licence to start', they have replied 'ASAP'.
But Greene King say that the application is purely administrative.
Greene King says its leasehold of the building has come to an end, and as part of the procedure to return it to the owner, they have had to apply for a premises licence.
