It was a busy night for Thornbury's firefighters, who an hour earlier had been called to reports of fire on Castle Street.

On arrival, crews from Thornbury found a small fire involved garden waste on open ground.

Firefighters used one high pressure hose reel, one drag fork and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews continued to dampen down the ground with one 45mm hose reel.

The cause is thought to be accidental.

Nobody was injured in either incident.
