An Ebley man was arrested on Sunday for drug driving.

Stroud police said he's jeopardised his job, for which he needs to drive.

Officers stopped him in Stonehouse where he tested positive for a controlled substance.

Latest figures show that twice the amount of drug drivers were on Gloucestershire roads in winter compared to last year despite Covid-19 restrictions, according to Gloucestershire Constabulary.

Officers arrested 130 people for drink or drug driving related offences over the course of the Constabulary's winter anti-drink and drug drive campaign, Operation Restraint.

Of those, 70 people were arrested for drug driving offences, compared to 36 people during the same operation the previous year.

Drug driving was linked to 21 crashes resulting in injury in Gloucestershire in the year ending October 2020, according to the Department for Transport.

For the eight drugs most associated with illegal use, the Government has set limits at a level where claims of accidental exposure can be ruled out.
