Scores of photographers from Stroud to Kemble were out yesterday capturing the Flying Scotsman on camera as it thundered from London to Worcester.
Among them were Mark Halling, who snapped the train in Cashes Green, Pete Kinsella, in Bowbridge, Anthony Slater, at Kemble station, and Chris King and Josh Adamms in Chalford.
The Flying Scotsman was constructed in 1923 in Doncaster, weighing 97 tonnes and stretching 70ft.
It was the first locomotive to reach 100mph and to this day it holds the world record for a non-stop run in a steam locomotive after travelling 442 miles in 1989.
In 2016 a £4.2m restoration project was completed.
