The A46 in Gloucestershire remains closed in both directions between B4079 Aston Cross and A435 Teddington, following a serious collision involving a car and lorry last night.

Highways England crews are currently recovering the vehicles and carrying out clear-up work after the collision that happened at around 8.30pm yesterday.

They have confirmed that the closure is likely to remain in place until late morning/early afternoon.

Once recovery work is complete, an inspection of the road will be undertaken to check if there is any surface damage.

Traffic is being diverted via local roads.

Diversion is via the M5 J10 then A4019 to the A435.

Diversions on the M5 heading to Evesham are advised to travel to J10, exit on to the A4019 towards Cheltenham. Take the A435 travelling northbound through Pittville and Bishops Cleeve to join the A46 at Teddington.
