THE hot weather spell over Gloucestershire has finally broken, with thundery showers occurring this afternoon.
After a number of days filled with warm temperatures and sunny spells, the heatwave looks to finally be over.
Initially forecast for the weekend, the region enjoyed a little bonus sunshine, thunderstorms have now arrived and showers are forecast for today and Wednesday.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms is currently in place, but this does not extend as far south as Gloucestershire.
Temperatures are set to remain around 20 degrees according to the Met Office, with sunny spells forecast for later in the week and into the weekend.
