TWO football fanatic friends are setting off on a trip around all 92 football league grounds in just 10 days, to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Best mates Alex Howley and Logan Smith decided to combine their love of the beautiful game with a fundraising mission, by taking a mammoth 2,350 mile road trip.

The pair, who both grew up playing for Tetbury Town Youth, will begin their trip at Forest Green Rovers stadium in Nailsworth at 9am on Saturday.

"We are planning to raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research UK," said Alex.

"We have both been affected by this awful disease, and between us have lost loved ones because of it.

"All the money we raise will go towards beating this disease."

Alex and Logan became best mates at Marling School, through to Downfield Sixth form, where they were the longest-serving members of the Marling Big Band, playing for their entire seven years at the school.

"We also played football for Tetbury Town Youth together," said Alex.

He added: "Our trip will be Vlogged by ourselves and put onto YouTube at the end of each day," said Alex.

"We will also complete a football related challenge outside each ground to be put in a montage as part of each Vlog.

"We have also written to every club to ask them for a donation of some sort, and have so far received signed merchandise from clubs such as Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion, Derby County, Rotherham United and many more."

"We are undertaking this challenge between Saturday, August 7 and Monday, August 16, so we will aim to raise as much money we can during that period."
