I wonder how many locals are aware of a facility that Tescos set up fairly recently.

They have an agreement with a company that will collect and responsibly recycle a range of plastic packaging, in the hope that the public will, in view of the environmental concerns, separate their own soft packaging, bag it up, and drop it into the special container outside the store (locally Cirencester and Stroud).

Details of what is acceptable packaging is listed on the container at the store. Examples are the film which covers packs of meat etc, and pet food sachets.

Having taken advantage of this great service over several months at the Cirencester store, and seeing just how much we as a household accumulate over just a couple of weeks, it is horrifying to multiply this by several million and realise just what tonnage of these materials go to landfill.
