STROUD Pony Club will be holding an open horse show on Sunday, September 12 at 40 Acre Lane, Lypiatt to raise much needed funds for the club.

Club secretary Vicki Birtwhistle said: "Our shows are, like our club, always friendly and welcoming and this year we are holding a novelty dog show with lots of fun classes including a 'musical sit' and 'best sausage catcher'.

"There is also a 'best six legs' competition with dog and handler navigating a course of show jumps together.

"There will be the usual show jumping classes alongside some new classes to include: generation pairs, veteran rider and a five fence challenge.

"There will be catering on site plus a cake sale and raffle with prizes including a Waitrose hamper, vouchers to spend at Jolly Nice, and vouchers for local meat from Bisley Lane Farm.

"This is also a great opportunity for potential new members to come and find out more about Stroud Pony Club and meet our members, parents and committee."
