A FIVE day music and comedy roadshow is set to take place in Yate next May with big stars named to headline the event.

‘Good Times on the Pitch’ powered by Pearce Bros will take place in late May 2022 on a festival stage that will take over Yate Town Football Club.

Jason Manford, CBeebies Andy, P!NK and Beatles tributes will headline at Lodge Road in the five-day event sponsored by Pearce Bros.

Organisers will reveal the big name opening night act later in the year.

Each night will be a separate ticketed event with festival-goers able to enjoy a substantial discount if tickets are purchased for all five nights.

Organisers say the line-up that includes popular comedian Jason Manford- who will take a break in his own UK tour to headline the Sunday night event in Yate, will have something for all of the family.

CBeebies Andy will light up the Sunday afternoon matinee session with his band the Odd Socks, who have performed across the country including playing at Glastonbury.

Event organiser James Murden said: “I’ve lived in Yate my entire life and there is a fantastic range of live music events to choose from but we think there’s room for a little more.

"We’ve worked really hard to bring world-class performers to Yate and we really feel we’ve got something for everyone”

Some of the worlds top tribute acts as also set to perform at the South West Interiors stadium in the event that will support The Grand Appeal at Bristol Children's hospital.

ABBA Revival alongside DJ Pat Sharp will be headlining on Friday, May 27 with the World-renowned Bootleg Beatles Bio a tribute to the Fab Four showcasing on the Thursday.

P!NK by Vicky Jackson and Coldplace are set to play the stadium on Saturday, May 28.

Event producer Tom Campbell said: “We want to bring a huge production to Yate and audience members can look forward to a large festival stage complete with video wall, epic light show and premium sound system”

“As well as our stellar music acts, our comedy headliner Jason Manford will take a break from his UK Tour to appear in Yate for the first-time he’ll be joined by king of the 1-liners Milton Jones and more guests are to be announced for his comedy gala."

Organisers intend to make ‘Good Times on the Pitch’ an annual event and have ambitious plans for future years at the football club.

Club Manager Mark Thorne said: "These are very exciting times for Yate Town Football Club and for the people of Yate- I hope everyone gets involved and joins us here over the five days- for what is sure to be a great event!"

Organisers are giving local businesses the first opportunities to sponsor the event and are asked to get in-touch via the website.
