A BRAND new primary school in Stonehouse has been officially opened by a player from Gloucester Rugby Club.
Great Oldbury Primary Academy opened its doors to students in September, with an official opening ceremony taking place yesterday (Wednesday).
Gloucester Rugby and Italy National Rugby Union Team player Jake Polledri cut the ribbon and officially opened the facility.
Part of the Gloucestershire Learning Alliance Trust (GLA), Great Oldbury Primary Academy opened its doors initially to early years and foundation stage and Year 1 pupils with additional spaces in the school-run nursery and preschool named Great Oldbury Little Learners. The school aims to eventually have a capacity of 420 students from ages 2-11.
The new school forms part of Redrow’s Great Oldbury site which opened in 2018.
Located minutes from the M5, the development marks a major expansion for Stonehouse.
