If, like us you're enjoying the autumnal vibes,- the heating is going on, hot chocolates and crisp leaf walks are more becoming more frequent- then you are probably turning your attention to the activities of the season and there's nothing more suiting for Autumn than a pumpkin picking experience!

So, we have rounded up a number of the best places for the most fab-BOO-lous pick-your-own events and pumpkin patches across the South West.

AVON VALLEY ADVENTURE & WILDLIFE PARK

Grab a wheelbarrow and roam through the massive pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. If you don't fancy taking your wellies you can choose a pumpkin from the event area.

Avon Valley promise more than just a Pumpkin Patch; their Pumpkin Extravaganza includes theatrical performers, fire shows, pumpkin paintball, bottle smash, pumpkin slingshot and a pumpkin cannon.

There is also a chance to find a golden pumpkin charm hidden in the patch worth £800.

We have loads of photo opportunities in the event area and you can take some amazing pictures in and around our Massive Pumpkin Patch. Dress to impress and show us your best Halloween outfits. We will be awarding the best each day!

Visit during the day or spice up your October nights when the fire shows really glow and enjoy festival vibes with a pop up bar, firepits and beautiful lighting.

PICKING PATCH (Bath)

Located near the village of Newton St Loe, on the A4, just outside Bath is a huge pumpkin patch full of amazing pumpkins of all different shapes sizes and colours- perfect for a budding pumpkinologist!

There are eight acres of pumpkins to pick, for the crafty, lots to create, make and take.

Pumpkin have wonderfully evocotive names like polar bear, goosebump and munchkin each giving a real sense of what each one is.

The aptly named Gold Medal is for carving, kabocha for a wonderful soup, Casparita because how can we ignore a name like that, and the wonderful Monster Smash!

At Picking Patch they're are over 20 varieties of pumpkins planted and available to pick.

You pay for what you pick and pumpkins are priced by size.

COTSWOLD FARM PARK

This weekend sees the opening of the ever-popular Pumpkin Patch at Cotswold Farm Park, near Cheltenham.

This year, there’s a scarecrow trail to explore, free face painting and of course, plenty of pumpkins to choose from.

Entry to the field (plus a free pumpkin token) is included in Farm Park admission, or pumpkin field only tickets are also available to buy online (£5 adults, £3 children).

CATTLE COUNTRY

Cattle Country’s Pumpkin Patch opens tomorrow and the team have thousands of home-grown pumpkins and gourds to pick!

You’ll also find pumpkin carving and decorating*, marshmallow toasting and a seasonal menu in GRAZE.

During half term (23 - 31 October) professional Face Painting will also be available.

Entry to the Pumpkin Patch is included in your Cattle Country ticket. Pumpkins are priced by size and start at £2 each

So grab your wellies (strongly recommended!) a wheelbarrow and pick your perfect pumpkin at Cattle Country. Plus check out the Pumpkin Patch photo booths for the ultimate autumn family photo (Send to Leanne!)

OVER FARM

Over Farm have released all of their dates for picking-your-on pumpkin experiences and its sure to be the ideal autumnal family outing.

Entry is between £2-£4 per person (excluding babes in arms) and pumpkins are between £2-£10 each depending on size.

Thousands of pumpkins including Ghouly Ghost pumpkins are available.

Plenty of photo of opportunities including at the fabulous Mr Men display.

Hot drinks and waffles are available to warm up after picking. 

Dogs are welcome.
