Pitchcombe residents are celebrating the return of their red telephone box.
This iconic feature was removed from Pitchcombe junction before roadworks began on the new road layout.
But the success of a 'lockdown library', where residents were encouraged to leave books and puzzles in a box for others to enjoy, led to calls for the phone box to return.
Following a positive response from the community, and the agreement of councillors, plans were hatched to officially 'adopt' the phone box and convert it into a library.
And recently contractors Smiths of Eastington spent three days preparing the ground and restoring the phone box to the village.
A telephone box exchange group has been formed to coordinate its restoration and organise fundraising events to maintain its upkeep for many years to come.
As well as books and puzzles there will also be a seed and plant exchange as well as seasonal fruit and produce.
