LIDL has confirmed that its new supermarket on Dudbridge Road, in Stroud, will open for the first time on Thursday 2nd December.

During the first week of opening customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Slime Station (£7.99) and a Laser Distance Measurer (£9.99) on Thursday 2nd December as well as a Bread Maker on Saturday 4th December (£24.99) – all perfect Christmas presents for that special someone.

The store opening times will be between 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

Part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion, the store will create around 40 new jobs for the local community.

The new supermarket will have a 1,325m2 sales area and facilities including an in-store bakery, a customer toilet, electric vehicle charging and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Glen Stidever, commented: “It is fantastic that we are finally able to open our doors and welcome local residents into our highly anticipated store in Stroud.

"We have received overwhelming support from local residents, and we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering this new store.

"We now look forward to serving our multi-award-winning products to the local community.”

As per the latest government guidance, while no longer legally required, it is recommended that those who can, continue to wear face coverings in crowded or indoor spaces, including when visiting Lidl.

Dedicated cleaning stations at entrances, hand sanitiser, and protective screens at checkouts will be in place at the store.
