A MAN was arrested on suspicion on murder in Stonehouse following an incident overnight.
A section of Bath Road next to the High Street in the town centre was cordoned off by officers as they continue their investigation after a woman died.
Two police cars were outside the scene, making sure members of the public did not pass the police cordon.
A police tent has also been set up outside the house.
The police cordon was near a fish and chips outlet, whilst other shops on the High Street are in close proximity.
In their original statement, the police said:
"Police were called to a property on Bath Road at 12.30am today, Sunday 28 November, where it was reported that a woman had been injured.
"Paramedics attended and the woman, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify a next of kin.
