THE MAN arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Stonehouse has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. 

The 53-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of murder during the early hours of Sunday morning and police were granted a court extension to continue questioning the suspect. 

Police have now also clarified that the arrested man resides in Stonehouse and not Cheltenham as first believed. 

The scene guard on Bath Road is likely to remain in place for a number of days to allow for examinations of the scene.
