A stylish bar and restaurant is opening in Stroud high street today.

Brody’s, run by the owners of Brody’s Takeout which recently closed in the Five Valleys Shopping Centre are opening a stylish bistro at the site of former newsagents McColl's.

"It is very family orientated and we will try to give jobs to local people,” Tracey Griffiths, co-owner, previously told the SNJ.

"We have already had people messaging us and booking tables."

"We have people who had booked their Christmas parties for Saturday."

"It has been a bit stressful. We had a few setbacks before and this time we have had a few issues. But everything is coming together."

"We have a bit more to do but it will get there."

The new venue will offer seating, a bar and a wider menu and the owners want to make it clear they will be offering more than the fast food snacks which were available at the previous unit.

The bar is open today and Brody's will be open for Stroud Goodwill, taking place tomorrow.

Meat will sourced by local butcher Waghornes which is at the shopping centre and the owners want to try and give the place more of a rustic feel.

Reaction over the last few weeks has been positive, said Tracey.

“We have spoken to a few of the locals. They have stopped at the door and they all seem to be really excited."

“People were disappointed when we announced that we had left the previous place."

At the moment, Brody's is looking to be open between 10am and 11pm.

The licence is until 11pm.
