The main road from Stroud to Cirencester is shut as critical work begins.
At Sapperton, the A419 from Brimscombe to Cirencester has been shut by Gloucestershire County Council - delays are likely.
This closure will be in place between Monday, January 10 to Friday, January 21 from 09:30 to 15:30 every day (not including weekends).
The reason for the road closure is due to Ash dieback - a fungus which originated in Asia.
The Woodland Trust states that Ash dieback will kill around 80% of ash trees across the UK.
Ash dieback produces small white fruiting bodies between July and October - this has the effect of releasing spores into the atmosphere.
Once these spores have penetrated the leaf and beyond, the fungus then grows inside the tree, eventually blocking its water transport systems, causing it to die.
