WE want to hear all about your favourite Chinese takeaways in Swindon.

One of the things I'm sure we all enjoyed more than usual during the lockdowns was a cheeky Chicken Chow Mein or Sweet and Sour Chicken from our favourite local.

So today, the Adver launches a major new competition to find the town's top Chinese and highlight the restaurants that deliver the best Asian cuisine to delight our tastebuds and fill our stomachs

We all have our go-to place that we use everytime we 'fancy a Chinese' because it's the best. So why not tell everyone about them!

Swindon Advertiser:

Here's how it will all work - it's a simple three step process which will shine a spotlight on our culinary compatriots.

First, loyal readers need to nominate the Chineses they think most deserve to be heaped with high praise in these very pages by completing an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/swindonadvertiser-chinese

Then, after entry submission closes on Sunday January 30 we will spend a few days counting up all the nominations, tally who voted for which Chinese, and whittle the entries down to a top 10 which will be revealed in the Adver the following week. - with a token for each one.

Readers will then cut out a token for the corresponding Chinese and use it to vote for that one as the best in town and then a winner will be crowned.

Adver editor Daniel Chipperfield is encouraging people to back their local Chinese as the competition will be fierce.

"Brits love their takeaways and the Chinese restaurant has been a staple of towns across the country for over 50 years," he said.

"We have a wealth of them here in Swindon, so it's about time we had a friendly competition to find out which really is the public's favourite.

"Whether it's an established restaurant or a cheerful takeaway, if you have been a loyal patron of your local Chinese, make sure to give them your vote as best in the town."
