Gateway to India - run by South African couple Jay and Pat Naidu - offers a range of products at its shop right next to the train station.

Items include hot beverages, Indian snacks and specialised teas.

A range of vitamins, supplements and ailments are stocked.

The produce at Gateway is sourced from Asia and Africa as well as locally produced goods.

The harmonious nature of Stroud and its people was one reason why the business owners chose the town to open a business in.

"The ethos of Gateway To India is to provide Stroud and surrounding areas with an international range of food, art, curios, jewellery, and apparel from Africa to Asia as well as showcase local suppliers and artists," said Mr Naidu.

"We have lived in Stroud for 4 years - it is absolutely marvellous.

"Stroud has a diverse culture of people that live harmoniously.

"We have many budding chefs who try their culinary skills with diverse cooking ranging from Indian, Korean, Japanese and many other international flavours.

"We have an extensive range of dates, halwa and cassava chips, plantain chips, Kimchi, Italian flours, and lentil-based pastas."
