A NEW dog grooming business has opened in Stroud town centre.

The Underdog - owned by Kaya Underhill, has replaced Pashon which recently closed its doors after 17 years in Russell Street, Stroud.

At the store, Kaya, who grew up in Leonard Stanley, offers full grooms, nail clippings, ear cleaning and more.

The 26-year-old grew up with five dogs and now wants to help dog owners across the town and district.

She said: "During the lockdowns the number of people buying puppies and dogs has soared, meaning the pet industry is also at an all-time high.

"I hope to educate and help dog owners understand a range of issues.

These include the requirements for dog coats, how to improve their dog's general welfare and how to make them look great in the process."

Stroud News and Journal:

Kaya's family have lived in Stroud for the last five generations.

"I’m really lucky to have such great customers who bring their dogs in on a regular schedule.

"I am so happy with how the first week has gone.

"I hosted an open day last Saturday that could not have gone any better.

"A big thank you to family and friends that helped bring my salon to life."
