THE OPENING date for the Papa John's store near the centre of town has been revealed.
The global pizza chain will be opening a new store in London Road near the Stroud Town Council offices replacing what was a hairdressers on Monday.
Planning permission was given by Stroud District Council in April after an application was made in February for the unit.
What is Papa John's?
Papa John’s is the fourth largest pizza delivery restaurant chain in the United States.
According to the company’s website, there are more than 5,000 Papa Johns locations in 45 countries.
Stiff competition in Stroud
It will however will face stiff competition from some of the much-loved pizza parlours located in the centre of Stroud such as Sorrento Restaurante & Pizzeria, Domino’s Pizza, Best Kebab & Pizza House, Fat Toni’s Pizzeria, Caprinos Pizza Stroud, Crust Issues and Express Pizza and Kebab.
Fat Toni’s also recently announced that they are going to open a new restaurant next to their existing Merrywalks store.
