As an original player at the formation of Cashes Green Football Club I was saddened to learn of their possible closure.
I played in bot the youth team and the "men's" teams which did enjoy some success.
What is not generally known is the first set of shirts was donated by Charles Ferris the Sunday School Superintendent, who owned a gent's outfitters in Stroud and who chose the colours, Gold or Yellow as in cash and of course green.
I sincerely hope the club survives and goes on to greater things.
