A MAN WAS arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in Tetbury.
This comes after a large police presence was in Tetbury this morning (August 18).
Officers from Operation Vanguard, the Firearms and Dogs units executed a warrant at an address in Tetbury.
The suspect was not present, although police dog handlers and firearms officers located a man in a nearby woodland.
A 22-year-old man from Tetbury was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and remains in police custody.
Searches at a property and in the woodland are currently taking place.
Nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident.
Inspector Marcus Forbes-George said: "I would like to update that there was no risk to others as the man was not carrying a firearm at the time of his arrest.
"I appreciate how scary this morning's incident would have been for residents and would like to thank everyone for their cooperation with us."
